SLUMSCAPE PERMISSIONS

BASIC INFO
NAME: Estinien Wyrmblood
CANON: Final Fantasy XIV
AGE: Ambiguously 33-34
STATUS: Alive
INVENTORY: (1) Set of Antique Dragoon Armor, (1) Cursed Gae Bolg Lance, (1) Leather Bag, (1) First Aid Kit, (1) Bag Fantasy Coins

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
VISUAL: As an Elezen, the FFXIV version of an elf, Estinien is normally about 6'8" tall, which is middling for his species, and has big, pointy ears. He is also long of neck and limb, with Elezen tending towards thin and elongated appearances. His white hair is long, thick, and only ever has its bangs cut when they start to get in the way.
FASHION: He usually won't be wearing full armor unless he is planning on fighting, though its appearance can be seen in the picture up top. Otherwise, his sense of style is 'none' and he will just be wearing whatever the most body covering clothing he can find that will also fit his height. So mostly just long-sleeved shirts and whatever the easiest to find pants are. Trying to find clothes that fit him in a Japanese city is probably very difficult.
DEMEANOUR: Estinien tends to have a closed-off posture, defaulting to crossed arms and putting distance between himself and other people. He has a bit of a resting bitch face.
SOUND: Estinien has a deep voice and an ambiguously Welsh accent, which you can hear here. He speaks in a vaguely old-timey fashion, which is the norm for Eorzea, but he is a bit on the formal side of the spectrum.

YOUKAI INFO
YOUKAI: Oni
MASK APPEARANCE: Here! A toothy oni mask with somewhat draconic features, painted in red. It's a half mask, so it only covers the bottom half of his face, samurai style. He usually wears it on his collar bone area, since it doesn't require any fastening to stay there.
ABILITIES: Somewhat enhanced strength, endurance, and super jump.
CHANGES: Fangs. Gradually getting taller, bringing his height up to 6'9".

IC PERMISSIONS
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Generally speaking, Estinien prefers not to touch others or to be touched unless he's very familiar with you and it's in private circumstances. An appropriate level of physical contact in a public situation is, at best, a friendly shoulder pat.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Go for it. He can handle it. Expect that he will do violence in turn.
RELATIONSHIPS/SEX: Estinien has technically had sex but none of it was particularly good or fulfilling, and he has no idea how to do relationships. If you don't mind courting someone with a high level of dysfunction then go for it. He probably won't be very receptive without a lot of development, though. He might deliver a one night stand sooner than accomplishing an actual romantic connection. He's bisexual, so either's fine.
MEDICAL INFO: He's hale and hearty, and also extremely physically fit. The only signs of anything medically awry are the numerous scars that cover his body, but all of them seem to have healed well enough.
MENTAL INFO: Estinien spent most of his life on an obsessive vengeance quest after a dragon killed his family when he was still a child. As such, he's never developed any interests or hobbies outside of dragon killing. Though he tends to play it close to his chest, he's experienced intense bloodlust, survivor's guilt, and has at times wished that he died at the same time his family did. He has nightmares about the day his family was killed, and other general carnage from fighting in the Dragonsong war. As another spiritually sensitive character put it: a storm of anguish seethes unseen.

As part of his role as Azure Dragoon, he was required to tap into the power of the great wyrm Nidhogg by harnessing the power of his disembodied eye - the same wyrm that destroyed his entire village. Using this power forced him to constantly fight against Nidhogg's will, given the empathic connection it formed between them, with Nidhogg exploiting emotional vulnerability to try to take control - as a result, Estinien has trained himself to be prickly and closed off. After having finally slain Nidhogg, Estinien made the mistake of allowing himself to become vulnerable with relieved thoughts of his fight finally being over, and the spirit of Nidhogg took control of him again, seizing his body and soul and taking Estinien as his new vessel. As a result, Estinien spent a while being fused with his worst enemy, warring against his own friends and nation, which ultimately ended up having him inherit the remains of Nidhogg's power and also lingering emotional baggage.

Those with spiritual or mental acuity may notice the remnants of Nidhogg's presence in him, misplaced memories of something much more ancient than Estinien himself, and traces of the shade's malice and the mourning of its own fallen love. In the end, it turned out Nidhogg and Estinien were kindred spirits, and though now Estinien has had the chance to move on there is still a lot to unpack in there.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Estinien is a fairly stoic guy and isn't particularly vulnerable to offensive conversation, but generally speaking, he would be most sensitive to: minimizing or disrespect of the effects of war, bringing up the fact that he has a lot of blood on his hands, and anything about his dead family. To be clear these aren't necessarily things that will make him angry, but that will bring out a vulnerable emotional response. Also, just possession in general, but let's be real, that's going to come up nigh constantly in this game.
ANYTHING ELSE: Not as of yet!

OOC PERMISSIONS
PLAYER: Quix
CONTACT: [plurk.com profile] quixocalypse, Quix#8093, or PM
TIMEZONE: EST
BACKTAGGING: To a point! If it's an important thread I'll try to keep going until it's done. I usually don't backtag past a month or so, though, because by that point it's too old for it to affect anything in the present. For really important threads I prefer to boomerang as much as I can.
THREADHOPPING: If it's in a context where it could happen, go for it.
FOURTHWALLING: No thank you.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: I can't really think of anything that I hands down wouldn't want to see in a thread. If there's a problem I'll bring it up, because it would probably be really context specific.
ANYTHING ELSE: I default to prose style tags on my own top levels, but I'm willing to switch to action tags. Personally, I just find prose easier to write, but I understand that's not the case for everyone.
